DANNY RAMPLING
BREAK FOR LOVE
IN THE HOUSE

Whether you’re an old raver or a young clubber, you need ‘Break For Love’.
It might not sound that obvious these days but Danny Rampling was once a revolutionary DJ with a vision, undoubtedly one of the few key people who helped turn house into a major global culture. So at the eve of his retirement from deejaying (he’s about to open a restaurant) this compilation, his last, is a majestic farewell, a great testament packed with classics, faves and rarities. Out of the three cds on offer, there’s no doubting that the Shoom one (early classics) and the balearic one (chill out, before the term became a joke) are the most vibrant and original. Back in the day the millionaire hippie was one DJ who’d entertain with inspired tracks, yet would always trust his personal tastes and try that little bit harder to play different from the rest. With soulful house today being so much part of the establishment, it seems timely to move on; Rampling’s passionate spirit will live on.
