Before everyone excitedly writes off the re-edit / blends trend as yesterday’s pizza, they should get their ears around this little ditty. It all starts off innocently enough. A Henrik Schwarz style house beat bumps along for a healthy five minutes or so, building atmospherically but never hinting at what lies ahead. Until the sound of Womack & Womack’s soul classic “Baby I’m Scared Of You” morphs into the track, creating such a big pay-off that the floor just goes wild every time, without fail. It’s being tipped across the board – Gilles Peterson has suggested it’s one of this year’s biggest tunes – so don’t miss the boat on this one. Beyond essential, this could well be the tune to end 2005 on.
