A second volume consolidating the next phase of Andrea Parker’s often jawdropping advanced electro imprint which all year has been leaving steaming footprints in the flaccid buttocks of dance music and pole-vaulting several steps beyond. Regular perusers of this page might have noticed my incoherent ramblings on the often-terrifying sonic sorties from names like Secret Frequency Crew, Eggfooyung, Doctor Evil, RD, Soul Weaver, Bitstream, Otto Von Schirach, Nomadic, the wee djs, Hydraulix, Sync 24, ADJ and more. It can be vicious in pushing the boundaries of uneasy listening into nightmare realms, seemingly always sodden with a kind of teaming, subterranean undergrowth, evacuating reptilian bowel movements and, holding it all together, a distended take on the original b-boy groove from the 80s. The icing on a bulging, trouser-dropping cake is Andrea’s collaboration with long-time studio partner-in-crime David MorleMorley, ‘Polarize my humble opinion, up there as one of the labels of the year and I can’t wait to see what transpires in 2007.
