ONLY AFTER DARK
EMI

Narrow-minded bores will always sneer at Duran Duran but way back in the beginning the Birmingham quintet was right in the thick of the new romantic scene as Rhodes & Taylor, the group’s keyboard player and guitarist, remind us on this exciting compilation. The pair has put together ‘Only After Dark’, a testament of what was being played in the forward thinking discos in the late seventies/early eighties. As suddenly the stars of art glam-rock (Bowie, Eno, Ferry, Iggy) cohabited on the dancefloor with electronic music’s revolutionary pioneers (Donna Summer/Moroder, Kraftwerk, Human League, Y.M.O.) and inspired post-punk outfits  (Simple Minds, Psychedelic Furs, Ultravox). So it wasn’t just all about videos down the end, it’s all here for you to (re)discover.
