Cocoon’s annual celebration of the White Isle comes courtesy of two nicely contrasted mixes from Dana Ruh and tINI, the aim to capture a Monday night in Amnesia. Dana Ruh’s mix is hot and sweaty, with some really nice melodic elements that float through FunkE’s ‘WuWei’ onwards, until Agnes’ ‘Who Cares’ toughens up the four to the floor beats with a more basic approach. Closing out the mix is Nicuri’s wonderful ‘Holding The Four Winds’, where you can practically feel the sea spray on your face! Tini goes for a more direct and stripped back approach, the percussion holding the key, panning out a bit for more space in the middle section of the mix before turning on the afterburners with Mr. G, Amir Alexander and Company Is Family, ‘Naomi’ being remixed by Spencer Parker. The mixes complement each other – and add up to give a highly recommended package to remember the summer of 2015 by.
