Future Sounds Of Jazz Vol. 11
Compost

After an absence of two and a half years it’s good to welcome the ‘Future
Sounds of Jazz’ series back to the Compost roster, with Michael Reinboth
picking up the reins once again. If truth be told there’s as much house in
this selection as jazz, but no matter – the timpani-driven ‘Salome’ from
Joash makes a striking opener, followed by a vibrant Christian Prommer remix
of Koop’s ‘Drum Rhythm A’. Softer and deeper sounds complement these nicely,
thanks to Zeynep Erbay and No Theory, while the unusual Prins Thomas remix
of Blackjoy’s ‘Moustache’ adds a pleasing element of wierdness towards the
end. With several exclusives this is to be snapped up – and it’s to be hoped
the series will blossom once again as Reinboth is something of a compilation
connoisseur.
