There’s already a buzz around this double CD voyage from a bloke who refuses to be straitjacketed in any one particular field as he leaps from remixing Britney to capturing the German underground with his Border Community label. To hear this fearless talent letting fly displaying his influences and some favourite records is both inspirational and great fun. Holden uses his own customised technology to make proceedings flow better but, despite its advanced execution, has left in the mistakes, which adds to the unique flavour of the whole exercise. Ultimately, it’s the selection that counts – and this is a killer one. Riveting reliables like Aphex, Hawtin and Death In Vegas rub shoulders with new bloods like Bpitch’s Apparat and Border Community artists like Nathan Fake. Plus some buried treasure and nuggets like Holden’s remix of Black Strobe’s Nazi Trance Fuck Off’. A shimmering momentum is reached, making for a veritable journey into the unknown.
