Kenneth Bager’s record collection never fails to illuminate, and that’s the case with this highly enjoyable selection of unmixed Balearic numbers, providing some much needed warmth for the cold season. The real winners here are Jack Penate, in fully extended mix form for ‘Tonight’s Today’, the vibrant Dennis Ferrer track ‘Sinfonia Della Notte’ and the percussive, bass heavy ‘Real Rots’ from DJ Disse. Bager is always good at throwing in a few unexpected treats, and these occur right at the end in the form of Simple Minds’ ‘League Of Nations’ and the Steve Miller Band’s ‘Journey To Eden’ – proof that he understands the idea of Balearic classics going all the way back to the early 1980s. Well worth dipping your toes in to.
