An awesome double CD of exclusives and unreleased material from the breakbeat scenes main players, this really does deserve your attention. Firstly, there’s the music. CD1, helmed by the Shut Up & Dance crew, runs through tracks by people like Jammin, Apollo Kids, Quest & Oddesey, Deep Impact, DJ Hype, Krafty Kuts, etc. CD2 is handed over to Aquasky who give us Stanton Warriors, Drumattic Twins, Plump DJs, Soto, Hyper, etc. Both CDs show how much variety breaks has to offer, particularly for those who think it’s all about remixing old house classics and sticking a break under it, demonstrating how breakbeat has come to dominate and lead the way. The second reason this should be top of your purchase list is that all of the proceeds go to Oxfam to assist with their ongoing work with the crisis in Sudan. Recommended on all counts.
