This is ‘Chaos Restored’ restored, if you get my drift – and a chance for Justin Martin to build on the success of last year’s compilation. That he does is down to a tight approach to mixing that enables him to include 20 tracks, many of which are his own re-edits. The flow is key, from the softly brushed piano of the Henrik Schwarz remix of Stateless’ ‘Bloodstream’ through the long held subterranean bass notes of Dapayk Solo’s ’50mann50hz’ to tracks such as Radiohead’s ‘Nude;, Tim Green’s ‘Revox’ and the Marshall Jefferson classic ‘Mushrooms’, all three in Martin remix guise. Excellent mixing – but with plenty of room for manoeuvre, meaning this is a compilation that really holds the attention.
