Paul Simpson Presents Old School Meets New School Series – Club Salsoul In The Mix
Salsoul

In all honesty there are not many angels that the Salsoul label hasn’t exploited in its near-30 year history. Even the youngest amongst you reading this will know many of the label’s tracks via covers, samples and remixes that seem to appear on a regular basis – “Love Sensation 2006” a casing point. Yet here’s a new twist. Brooklyn’s Paul Simpson takes charge overseeing an exhilaration 60-minute ‘quick mix’ taking in 18-classics from the vaults in the process, many in previously unheard formats. They include an terrific alternative mix of “Ten Percent”, David Morales’ subtle tweak of “My Love Is Free” and a handful of Simpson’s own takes including First Choice (“Love Thang” and “Double Cross”) and The Salsoul Orchestra (“Run Away”). Dimitri From Paris, Full Intention, MAW, Smokin’ Beats and Jazz-N-Groove add further momentum to keep the party jumpin’. To quote the Salsoul Orchestra: “Ooh I love it!”
