The Supperclub nine sins series gathers more momentum with ‘Jealousy’, handing over to Amsterdam musical director Alan Luna for another eclectic pair of mixes. CD1 does the decent thing and eases in with Owusu & Hannibal, Hot Lizard’s ‘The Theme’ as interpreted by Christian Prommer and Ralf Gum’s ‘All This For You’, moving steadily through the gears as it does so. Pride of place, mind, goes to the wonderful blissed-out ‘Arthur’ of Henrik Schwarz. CD2 brings welcome exposure for Fink, Blackjoy and Tevlon, before The Black Dog, Dakar and Roberto Rodriguez wrap things up with more than a little funk. Luna does what this series does so well, navigating a course through unlimited musical genres without making it sound contrived – and introducing you to some great new music along the journey.
