A good choice for Watergate’s sequel to Onur Ozer’s mix a while back, Sascha Funke capitalises on his excellent ‘Mango’ album by bringing deep house and techno-influenced grooves to the dancefloor. Keiran Hebden gets him off to a fine start with his hypnotic remix of Nathan Fake’s ‘You Are Here’, while the Wighnomy Brothers’ remix of Minilogue & KAB’s ‘That’s A Nice Way To Give Me Feedback’ still charms in its odd way. There’s a sense of gathering momentum though, as the beats toughen up through tracks from Sten and Modal, so that by the time tracks from Funke himself and Closer Muzik kick in, a line has been crossed. A mix that works well and feels like something of a journey through Funke’s deeper side.
