Many moons ago Rhythim is Rhythim (Derrick May) ‘Strings of Life’ literally changed my life with one of the most influential house/techno records ever made. And now we fast-forward over 20 years (oh my God is it that long ago!!!) for Crystal Distortian’s version.. So what a tune to remix! A Good way to get the kids into the old classic with its tropical bass, electro leanings and keeping the all-important piano riff intact. High Rankin, master of the disgustingly filthy bass line, and uncompromising tear this shit apart as I see fit remix stylee, bleeps, parps and distorts his elasticised bass line into unheard of dimensions. Ixindamix stays pretty true to the original with an 80’s acid house, 808 re work.
