With skills applying a few more marbles to hip-hop’s favourite goofballs – ODB, C-Rayz Walz, Dudley Perkins – Casual swerves from giving shouts to single mothers to proving a party ain’t a party without a wicked kazoo loop, all without the usual Hiero patience test. The pimp lifestyle does threaten to get the better of him, but there’s enough wearing of home colours (all-star allegiance ‘Oaktown’, the arguing ‘Bay Vs. Bricks’) and beats to supplement his high living (typical J-Zone wobble ‘Say That Then’, the flashy ‘Styles’) to garner enough enjoyment from Smash’s swollen flow.
