The Nottingham label’s recent triple-CD celebration of its ten year anniversary was the bison’s toolbag, galvanised by label owners Inland Knights. Past consolidated they’re now off on the next phase, spearheaded by label stalwart Joshua Heath from Fresno, who’s made a dent on a gamut of label since debuting three years ago at the same time as holding down his residency at LA’s Balance nights. This ERP is the expected treat, a funked-up excursion into pure house heaven, leading off with the jazz inflections and ‘Ain’t Too Proud To Beg’ vocal inflections of ‘I Refuse’, bumping through the supremely butt-hoisting ‘Son Of A Gun’ with piano, sax and mega-bass adding to the kneesup and ending up with a fabulous remix of the former track by Inland Knights who add their trademark sense of space and killer moves. Levitatory tackle.
