Amirali – Fearful Stay – (Dark Matters)

With ‘Fearful Stay’, Amirali (Crosstown Rebels) has crafted a deep and achingly beautiful sonic assault on the senses. In its original inception you’re treated to a quirky blend of ambient electronica, techno and house with almost spiritual vocal mantras threaded through its fabric like iridiscent silks. The ‘Aboutface staring into the sun’ mix is pure balearic bliss, with shimmering guitars, trip hop beats, sunkissed synths and vocal swells that lap at your ankles like warm sea water as you meditate on life itself. Prins Thomas adds the dancefloor kick, a steady, plucked guitar with a bit of wah wah attitude and the full vocal to take it out of your head and down to your feet for some sexy daytime or early doors behaviour. It’s so meticulously constructed it could almost be art but I’m sure you’ll be happier knowing that it will do good business on grown up dancefloors and in expensive headphones.
