Cerecs is the latest U.S. East Coast label to enjoy a new lease of life, and on the basis of what we’ve heard so far, label honcho Todd G is a man well versed in unearthing luscious tech-house planes.
Crunching beats snap and crackle throughout, but it’s the gentle unfurling bassline that captivates most amongst a delicate dose of white noise and some spirited synth-work. Multilayered and potent, it neatly paves the way for the first of the remixes, a remix from Todd G that gives the original a whole new lick of paint thanks to its twinkle-toed melodies especially. Steven Mestre closes the door on the EP with his rough around the edges interpretation; one that’s not lacking in ferocity. In all, a job very well done indeed by Cerecs, as they continue a run of form that’s nothing if not steady and consistent.
