Transfiguration has now been extended from an EP to a full blown album, and makes the move with ease. After the watery beginnings of ‘Aire Intro’ it’s reassuring to feel the weight of the kick drum in ‘Luna’, and Alvarado follows this up with a pair of deep masterpieces in ‘Sol’ and ‘Aire’, where Andrea Snider provides a bewitching vocal. As a house/techno record in the tradition of Carl Craig and others this makes for a nocturnal treat, and if you already have the EP you’ll be glad to know the new tracks are just as good.
