There’s nothing like a great mix of music to kick off the New Year for you and this superb blend of Bass heavy House is just the ticket. Featuring the turntable skills of the Paris based ‘Bass Culture’ resident D’Julz this selection demonstrates just why the night hosted at The Rex Club has lasted quite so long, building such a heady reputation in the process. The music is profoundly underground relying as much on rhythm as it does upon splashes of soulful colour. Amongst the many standout cuts are Joel Alter (Silence Is Golden), John Jastszebski (Work), Chris Simmonds (The Way U Want 2 B) and inevitably Mr.G with ‘Got That Swing’. Also of note are D’Julz own contributions including the fiery energy of his edit of Anonym ‘Lov Is Easy’ and the ever excellent, ‘Da Madness’. Either way, the selection and mix are first rate and represents House music at its most intense.
