EAST RIVER RITUALS FEAT. ROBERT OWENS
YOU CAN’T FIGHT IT
CONTRA LA MUSICA

The most immortal voice in house music returns once again – and it’s one of those classics he seems to have a habit of turning out every few years.
Unusually, East River Rituals – Blakkat and Onions – take off on a Latin tip for their original, using little more than a jumpy bassline and skipping drums as a base for Robert to do his inimitable thing. Using his voice like an instrument, he glides, cajoles and swoons as only Robert Owens can. All the focus is on the voice, and that’s how it should be. The Fred Everything Remix is the one – pure Fingers magic with old school bassline, dreamy pads and muted backing vocals. Again showcasing the gorgeous vocals which fly to a peak of impassioned pleading. By the lengthy drop its house heaven. I can’t tell you how happy this record makes me. Pure class from a true original.
