Eduardo De La Calle – The Methodical Machines EP – (Cadenza)

Always exciting to hear what Cadenza are about to release next, and this latest from Eduardo De La Calle is no exception. Spread across two pieces of vinyl the release comprises of five fresh tracks that begin with the engaging hypnotic repetition of, ‘Gajapati’ which despite its several minutes make’s time seemingly fly by. Next comes the grittier ,’ The Demigod’s Control’ which transports the idea of analogue heaven into your speakers, with the proceeding ‘The Namuci’s Mystery’ supplying funky percussion, tribal drums and Acid attitude to startling effect next. ‘White Noise For James’ explores darker electronic atmosphere’s, and the EP’s concluding standout ‘Concierto de Aranjuez’ adds the human touch via sprinklers of piano and guitar releasing further enticing qualities to this already richly rewarding release.
