No sooner has the DJ disco dust started to settle on the all guns blazing original version of Rudimental’s ‘I will For Love’ than those good people at Major Toms / Asylum records deliver two rather delicious remixes from Defected Records’ favourite son, Sonny Fodera and Embody for our delight and delectation. Fodera gives it a full power, piano nu-house reworking with a kick drum that tears through your speaker cones and piano chords that tear your heart out of your chest. Embody keep it tropically fresh like watermelon and pineapple but with an overproof daiquiri strength. Both mixes take it to the dancefloors and radio stations, bars and priority shelves in the shops and supermarkets that matter. SYV delivers a beautiful downtempo electronic soul / breaks remix that cradles then swings the vocal (and its time-stretched alter ego) in its luxurious instrumental hammock whilst Roni Size reminds us all why Full Cycle, Scorpio and Reprazent are three of the best things to have ever come out of Bristol with a raw, edgy and tense mix that feels like it is ripping the roof off with an outsized camping can opener. Absolute monster tear up. There are further mixes due from MNEK, Claptone and Special Request but this story in itself has set Rudimental ‘I Will For Love’ on the path to end of year chart glory.
