Stekke – Identity – (OLGA)

When it comes to electornic music in Brazil, D Edge club is a true scene leader. It already runs a fine label that puts out killer releases from the boss man as well as the likes of PillowTalk and now it has recently started a second outlet called OLGA. The aim is to have the label showcases sounds that best work in the futuristic club and behind the second release is Stekke. He has previously released on D Edge’s main label and now serve sup three hot tracks. They are all deep, moody, insular affairs for the dead of night. Who Are You goes first and is super subtle and supplewith great rubbery drums and nicely designed bas. Little percussive ticks help drive things along and the overall effect is truly hypnotising. TLP is then a little more upbeat and yet it still manages to suck you deep into a snores sound world. Lastly, Stepping Out is a track made with Ney Faustini. It is a real roller that rolls back and forth on its heels, with frazzled synth and techno ideas permeant the groove. Overall this is another great EP from a label that is sure to be buy on sight.
