Vidal Benjamin presente – Disco Sympathie Sampler – (Versatile)

Here comes that word outstanding once again. And if slightly quirky and obscure but none-the-less excellent Disco strikes you as heavenly starting point then you will want to hear/ dance too, or play this. Acting as a preview release of the compilation, Disco Sympathie which comes in full next month this is initially appearing as limited 7” and 12” copies. The selection opens with the early 80’s inspired Queen Zaza ‘Pense qu’elle danse’ (DJ Ringardos Version) and features slap-happy bass plus a selection of great sounding synthesizers, that are then followed by the Balearic excellence of Raymonde et les Moutards, ‘Y’en a marre!’ (Jean-Marc Misère Discoco Edit). The Gilbert Cohen & Vidal Benjamin’s Edit of ‘I Love Video’ by New Paradise then picks up the pace with a seriously addictive electronic melody line and sassy vocals galore, with the equally joyus ALT Edit of Ark ‘Amnesie’ again sparking up the dancefloor. However, it’s down to Jeff Gets A Single Room! Edit of Marc Chantereau’s ‘Gibraltar’ to live the high-life with a brilliant mid-tempo rap over funk fuelled madness, leaving the Dub-charged instrumental version of ‘Y’en a marre!’ to finish you off with the desire to have yet more.
