‘Raise The Roof’ is a particularly enchanting song from Tracey Thorn’s excellent ‘Out Of The Woods’ album. With Cagedbaby behind the production desk, it has a softly funky style that complements her distinctive, yearning vocals really well. The remix doubles the tempo and projects Thorn towards the house dancefloor – scene of many a success for her in previous years. This is no different – spotless production and easily funky beats ensure a toe tapper, while the message of the song comes through just as strongly. With a mix to come from Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve (Richard Norris and Errol Alkan, this is one to keep an eye on.
