Wave Machines
Punk Spirit
Neopolitan

Liverpool’s Wave Machines have had a very good 2009 so far, impressing crowds at festivals all summer long, and now they are about to play their trump card, the release of what is pretty much already being regarded as a modern day classic. Wave Machines’ “Punk Spirit” is without doubt an anthem, starting off with gentle strumming and the opening lines, “I broke the neck on my guitar, and I told you how it’s going to be, and later when you left the room, I whispered you can fucking die, and every time your back is turned, I put a finger in the air, and every time you turn around, I hide it coz it hurts”, before building into the chorus “Where’s my punk spirit, when I need it”. Then the rest of the band come in and we’re off on a joyous tale of gutless bravado and self loathing, that will have everybody singing at the top of their raucous voices, from building sites to backstage VIP’s, this is a winner.
