The London based outfit We Have Band, have done a deal with France’s biggest independent label Naive, and the first fruits of this venture is the excellent single “Divisive”. Pulsing disco synths, punk funk bass and rattling percussion, drive a great song packed with hook after hook, and an irresistible vocal that will have you joining in and getting really loud in the shouty bits. Tom Starr is up first on the remix front, getting wobbly with cute squelchy bits at a carnival rave. Carl Craig is next at the controls, stripping it right back and giving the drums a whole different feel, which works big time. Meanwhile French Fries give “Divisive” a deep house dip with a Balearic twist, and Flak Attack bring proceedings to a heads down no messing close. We Have Band’s debut LP is due in April, and if “Divisive” is a taste of what’s to come, then it’s gonna go right off.
