Following on from ‘Remix # 01’, which proposed reworks by the likes of Tiefschwarz, M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade and Kaos, this second package once again attempts the hazardous exercise of radically reshaping classic Roxy Music songs for today’s clubs. New York’s Rub ’n’ Tug deliver a gentle dubby re-rub of ‘The Main Thing’, pulsing and funky but ultimately a little deep for peaktime club action. The Glimmers fare better, not least for picking up one of Roxy’s danciest gem ever; classy and sexy, ‘Same Old Scene’ is drama-disco at its best. Next (and last) in the series will be a 7” including contributions from Headman (‘Virginia Plain’) and Paul Epworth (‘Editions Of You’).
