Canoe is a new label from Sheffield producer Nyra. He mixes up his own jams as well those carefully A&Red from others. On the label’s second EP he offers one cut himself and also a big one from norace that has long been searched for with ID requests all over the internet.
That track is called Young Larry and is a wild and musical jam with a summery trumpet line fluttering about over loose drums. It has a throwback, almost new jack swing feel and is filled with party starting energy and wonky beats. Sisco Disco then comes from Nyra himself and is a nice rolling tune with plenty of Chicago vibes stitched into the floaty, funky drums. Party atmospheres and whistles, a female vocal and other great samples all make it a hugely colourful affair that will no doubt do plenty of damage on the floor this summer.
