Lovely techno fairy-tale here as the currently on-a-roll Christian Smith remixed Carl Craig’s classic then sent it to the man himself, who loved it and gave permission for the mixes to be released on Tronic. Who won’t fall heads over heels in love with Smith’s utterly respectful but spectacular two versions? The Tronic Treatment homes in on the nagging synth motif, soaring strings and bottomless orchestral counter melodies, while the Hypnotica remix concentrates more on setting up a metronomic groove over which the key elements weave in and up to the stratosphere with an elegant, euphoric grace which turns up a deadly metallic intensity to mesmerising effect. Monumental. There’ll be tears of joy on the floors.
