Germany’s Frank Kusserow gets the honours for launching Dave Clarke’s new label, White Noise. Launched as a result of Clarke’s White Noise radio show to highlight new talent and new releases which might otherwise get the attention they deserve, it should be no revelation that it’s straight-ahead techno, as ‘Assimilate Your Soul’ marries old-school Chicago-isms with modern riffery, the vaguely aggressive titular intonation really gnawing away. ‘Ghostel’ is more subdued, built around ominous melodies and deep bass rumblings for a dark techno groover. Superb, mind-warping material – an ideal way to announce a new label.
