Ali Wells, aka Perc, immediately caused a commotion with the deadly missiles on his Perc Trax label while popping up on labels like Kompakt and Drumcode. He’s on amazing form for the second release on the new Lost Souls label [for which he remixed Misc’s maiden voyage], the title track unleashing a relentless barrage of trademark metallic percussion, berserk drop action, evil riffage, screeching vultures and all-round carnage. Misc returns the remix with a clanging, swirling auto-maelstrom. ‘Trampstyle’ rides a wired, malevolent helicopter groove which gets more skewed as it progresses and is then turned into an eerie dubstep flesh-crawler by Alpha Rhythm. So the debut was no flash in the pan, making this a label to watch.
