2005 is shaping up to be a very good year for Steve Porter with a handful of singles already earning acclaim and an album doing the business too. Now paired with DJ Hush he continues his crystalline tech-edged house production with ‘Carismo’ riding a well know brass sample from an ’80s jazz-funk favourite that the Caister Mafia will instantly recognise. There’s four flavours to choose: Agent 001 (pumping), Bon Johnson (Chic bass-slapping) and Aaryn Blain (dark and menacing); but it’s the Original’s funky vibe that give this release its best chance of rotation.
