Trainspotting With Simon Sinfield

Simon Sinfield’s name is synonymous with pioneering sounds on labels including Sony, Toolroom, Godskitchen, Dear Deer, and ICONYC. As co-owner of Krafted Records alongside Paul Sawyer, Sinfield has created a legacy that spans from electronic dance anthems to introspective chill-out remixes. His recent releases, including the popular solo single “Road to Le Mans” and the Chill remix of “One Step Beyond” with Jan Johnston, have marked major milestones. The latter even launched his Wind Down residency on BBC Radio 1, a two-year showcase that shone a light on Krafted’s diverse roster and Sinfield’s label-driven vision.

Released 18 December on Krafted, Sinfield’s forthcoming album ‘Voyager’ embraces downtempo electronica, robust progressive house, and the delicate nuances of ambient soundscapes. This album is not only a tribute to his past but a window into his ongoing journey across the electronic music landscape. DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with Simon Sinfield.

Ridney & Diana Miro – Labyrinth – Paharas Musica

Stunning new offering from Ridney. I love Paul’s productions and this one is just sublime. Deep and dreamy, with perfectly executed vocals from Diana Miro. A fantastic record!

dwelyr – Something About You – Colorize

I’ve supported this track on my radio shows. It really captures the movement and ambience of a progressive house track. I love the way the vocal then comes in and makes the track complete.

Sam Scheme & Jimmy Hop – Poulia #14 – Shambhala

I’ve been supporting this one for a while now. I keep including it in my sets. It’s a track with great ambience, and a wicked synth hook that just keeps driving it forward. Top stuff.

Paul Sawyer, Shemsu and Elle Jae – Black Knight – Krafted Underground

Huge track from my label partner Paul Sawyer, with the incredible Shemsu (A&R for Krafted) and the wonderful Elle Jae. Black Knight is a big room beast of a track. If people are unsure of what we deliver on our Krafted Underground imprint then I’ll play them this. Massive!

Estiva – Lonely Keys – Colorize

This is the latest release from Estiva. It’s another powerful track from Steven and yet again a fantastic release from Colorize. I’m a big supporter of Estiva and I’m always impressed by Colorize and what they consistently deliver.

Madison Palmer and Zy Khan – Torn Apart – Of Us Records

Both Madison and Zy have been regular artists on our label. I love them both. This is their latest release which is out on Of Us Records. It’s another beauty. This slowly develops towards the vocal and then opens up after the chorus/breakdown to really deliver the main hook.

Ana Be – Same Old Story (Simon Sinfield Chill Remix) – Krafted Records

Let’s take the tempo down a bit. This was Ana Be’s debut single, and one that I co-wrote and produced for her. This is the chilled version, which closes my album Voyager, which was made for the annual Krafted chill album. Ana Be is actually on a brand new track on the album, but this song just had to be included, as it remains a fan favourite.

Saudade – Still Life – Manual

This is from a new 2 tracker from Saudade. I love the vocal in this and the way the drive of the track is just that rhythmical single note. This is the sort of track I hear and wished it had been submitted to Krafted. Yet another brilliant release on Manual. Pure quality.

Simon Sinfield – Road to Le Mans – Krafted Records

One from me that I still regularly play, and just had to be included in Voyager. The support on this has been wild and it’s not a track I’ve got bored of playing out yet! Quite a nod to old school house with the bassline, but mated with my melodic and progressive house sound, and of course a reference to my love of motorsport.

Danny Stubbs, Paul Sawyer, Ana Be ft. James Sampson – Is This Real – Krafted Records

This is a very special release for us at Krafted. Sadly, Danny Stubbs recently lost his battle against cancer. He was a regular producer at Krafted, and his passing has really hit the whole team and our family of artists really hard. Is This Real is the last track he made, alongside Paul Sawyer, Ana Be and James Sampson. It’s so beautiful and poignant. All the proceeds are going to Cancer Research UK.

Simon Sinfield ‘Voyager’ album is released on December 18th 2024 on Krafted.
