Simian Mobile Disco seem to consistently be coming up with the goods. Well this time round they’ve hopped over the Channel to France, and delivered a bumper package to Kitsune Maison. ‘Hustler’ starts off with a streetwise vocal loop, whilst fazing Detroit pads rise in the mix, leading to the powerful onslaught of classic old school electro rhythms, which drive this hustling baby to the max. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, in comes the breakdown of euphoric rave riffs, followed by depth charging seriously fucked up fat synths. ‘Clik’ on the flip is circuit overload robot sassyness, that burns out more than it’s fair share of fuses. Phew! That certainly blew away the cobwebbs.
