Pioneering Russian DJ Eevorg – aka DJ Groove who can claim to be one of the prime instigators of electronic dance music around Moscow and St Petersburg since 1989 – serves up the second release on Monoliza. ‘Rock DJ’ [no relation] manages to splatter electro riffage against the gyrating buttocks of early 90s progressive house synths and undergo ravey stabs in the same region. The vocals recall ‘I’m A Disco Dancer’ in their deadpan silliness with lines like old Jockey Slut slogan ‘Suck my deck’. The flip’s ‘Chameleon’ is a brisk and darker instrumental groover with minimal y-fronts.
