Ace tribute to old-school electronics from Alan James & Michael Kirkman’s Subway outfit. They must have locked themselves away for months on end with nothing but a huge record collection for company, finally emerging to set free these wildly authentic explorations of outer-space funk. If you listen carefully, you can perhaps hear Giorigio Moroder, Cluster, Juan Atkins, Alexander Robotnick, Can, even Phillip Glass, and plentiful anonymous Italo disco, hiding deep, way down in the grooves.
