Top flight electronic-riffery from Ireland’s Col Hamilton (one half of C-Sixty Four who scored a hit a couple of years back). “Catch It, Kill It, Scran It” is the kind of track that seems innocuous enough, but it’s a potent mix of electro beats, twitchy bass and acidic ticks that causes severe club trauma at certain hours of the night. The other half of C-Sixty Four, Aaron McClelland, offers a warmer, more melodic refit, generally streamlining it into a much smoother beast; Dave Robertson’s remix takes it back to the darker floors for a grittier affair, the snarling acidic bass really taking hold towards the finale. Matteo ESSE & Sant offer the big room version – vocoders and effects taking it firmly by the scruff of the neck and planting it in the electro-house camp. Finally, Tim Hudson delivers a tougher edged turn, tingling with anticipation and allowing the momentum to build throughout those huge acid plays. Likely to be a bit special this summer.
