Although I consider their debut album to be one of the year’s best, this might just be the best thing Nag Nag Nag duo Johnny Slut and Fil OK have ejaculated from their volcanic creative loins to date. Inspired by French surrealist maverick Pierre Molinier, the painter/photographer who broke down visual sexual taboos to much outrage, the lead cut rides gloriously into the space-disco aboard a mighty Moroderesque starburst of throbbing sonics and breathy vocals. The dub on the download rams home the intricate devastation they’ve managed to pack into staining that lush sonic carpet. ‘Leon’ is a tougher, minimal-tinged missile which must slaughter the club. The Blue Moon version of ‘Boys Do it Better’ boasts what sounds like the creature from 50,000 fathoms periodically rising from the deep to flash the playful 80s synth-tones circling the vocals. For some reason the spikey stomp of ‘Dirty Nurse’ reminds me of the Sweet, albeit with genitals hotwired with the finest electrodes. The download also features the Virgin Tears Celebrity Crotch Rot Mix of ‘Rot Of The Stars’ and Fonteyn’s Nag Beat mix of ‘I’d Prefer Not To’. Fantastic, riotous stuff which deserves to be huge.
