The Droyds
All I Ever Wanted
Rebirth

Richard Norris of The Grid fame, alongside Andy Chatterly are The Droyds, best known for their Duran Duran ditty ‘Girls On Pills’ and their cover of Squeeze’s ‘Take Me I’m Yours’. Well all that is about to change, because Italian label Rebirth are set to release a bumper remix package of ‘All I Ever Wanted’. The sparse original mix comes over like a classic City Rockers outing or an International DeeJay Gigolo’s gem, all serious pouts and ill fitting jackets. Dusty Kid is up first at the mixing desk, increasing the tempo and layering synth riffs, giving ‘All I Ever Wanted’ a ‘Dubnobasswithmyheadman’ era Underworld feel, which works an absolute treat. The Robytek Vs Shield Remix strips it back and gives it some serious bass wobble, and Outmode go on a funky ACR vibe. Hick Nurdman doffs a cap to Max Headroom, leaving Pilooski to do a suitably freaky finale.
