Deep Forest – Sweet Lullaby

When I was a child my parents had a compilation CD and this song was on it. I have a feeling ‘Orinoco Flow (Sail Away)’ by Enya was also on it. Sweet Lullaby has stood the test of time and still so relevant to me.

Moby – Porcelain

I was drawn to this song as a child, especially watching the video clip on Rage. I saw the film ‘The Beach’ years after and I instantly fell in love with the song all over again. I’ve had it on repeat ever since.

The Presets – This Boy’s In Love

I was just a couple of years out of high school when their album Apocalypso was released (2008). I had just moved to Melbourne and discovered a place called Third Class. Life was amazing. I saw them at V Fest that same year and it was an incredible experience.

The Chemical Brothers – Another World

As the title suggest, it really did transport me somewhere far from here. This song is simply euphoric in every sense.

Burial & Four Tet – Nova and Moth

I couldn’t just choose one; they’re both perfect. They could be played in the background while cooking dinner or holding down a dance floor.

Jamie XX – All Under One Roof Raving

After a night out with friends, we all came back to a share house I lived in at the time and we all sat around in the living room and played this song. The song ended and everyone was dead silent. The first thing out of someone’s mouth was “Whoa”.

Sisterhood – Tunnels (Bicep Remix)

The first time I had heard of Bicep was in Austin during SXSW (2013). The room was full and it was loud. When this remix came out I had it on repeat. The bass groove at 2:57 is incredible.

Darkside – Paper Trails

I grew up playing guitar in bands and I consider myself new to electronic music production. I saw Darkside play at Splendour In The Grass and it was as though my past and present love for music had collided. My curiosity for electronic music was heightened after their set.

Nicolas Jaar – Just

Nicolas Jaar played a DJ set immediately after Darkside’s set at SITG. I would say that night was one of the most powerful musical experiences I had gone through. This song incapsulates that whole night for me. The production is mind blowing.
