“To ask for a top ten is always tough cause there is no such thing as a top ten for me…there are a group of songs that will always to me stand out, stand alone. Songs that will never be paralleled within their own right. Songs that if ever heard, no matter the generation, will strike a chord…resonate…capture you…below are a few of those songs for me, personally. “

1. Lets Get It On – Marvyn Gaye
You just cant go wrong w/ classics like this one. Timeless. This song is one that brings back memories at different points throughout the years.

2. Change Gone Come – Sam Cooke
The strings in the beginning of this cut make it a song I’d play no matter where I was or who I was with…it’s one of my all time favorites.

3. Lady In My Life – Michael Jackson
One of the sexiest songs MJ ever recorded.

4. Could You Be Loved – Bob Marley
One of the first reggae songs I ever heard and was instantly in love w/ Marley. His music is timeless. I could easily pick out a top ten list that just includes Bob Marley and MJ truthfully but I digress.

5. I Get Around – 2 Pac
Undeniable hit. That song OWNED that Summer and the seasons that followed…classic West Coast party cut.

6. The Entire Superfly Soundtrack – Curtis Mayfield
That entire record, front to back is a National Treasure.

7. I Wanna Be Your Lover  – Prince
Prince makes you wanna be a bad bad girl.

8. Heart Break Hotel Live – MJ (Live from the Bad Tour Brisbane 87)
The energy in this song is insane…they were torching the stage. Delivering the agony of the words w/ piercing intensity. They drove the audience to insanity that night. He was exhausted. You could see it and every time you thought he’d peaked in the performance he reached a little further. One of my all time favorite live MJ performances.

9. Kiss From A Rose – Seal
This song is gorgeous. One of the most gorgeously written and orchestrated songs of all time. In my book anyway.

10. Out There – Willie Hutch
All things Willie Hutch really but I had to pick one for the list.
