Max Sledgley

1. James Mason – I Want Your Love 12″ (Mighty Fine Recs)
Just got hold of this recently after years of searching. Funky yet beautiful and heart-wrenching all at the same time, like all good soul should be.
2. Martin Solveig – I’m A Good Man (Mousse T Breakbeat Mix) (Defected)
This one still blows the roof off whenever I play it. More funky gems like  this please Mr.T !
3. Hijack – Back To Brixton (From The Horns Of Jericho) (Warner Bros.)
My favourite track off a great album – seminal British hip-hop from back in the day.
4. Daisy Daisy – Michelle Plays Ping-Pong (Vicarious Bliss Remix) (Sunday Best)
Absolutely slamming remix of a clever, catchy track.
5. Sidewinder – Ego Riot (Soma Recs)
I still get people asking me about this track even though it’s been around for a few years now. Future-funk party vibes – perfect!
6. Chicken Lips – White Dwarf (20:20 Soundsystem Mix) (Adrift Recs)
Nice mix of very funky electro with some great moody vocals.
7. Sonny Stitt – Slick Eddie (Cadet Recs)
Soulful funk that oozes cool from one of the greatest jazz saxophonists of all time.
8. Bent – Private Road (From Programmed To Love) (2000 Sport/Mos)
Hauntingly beautiful track from the chill-out masters – still sends a  shiver up my spine.
9. Stanton Warriors – She Not In (Punks)
Funky electro doesn’t get any better than this for me.
10. Bugz In The Attic – Sounds Like (V2)
Floor-slaying samba-funk with a killer b-line to boot.

MAX Sedgley the single ‘Slowly’ is out on 19 June.
