John Saunderson returns to Notting Hill Music

As Editor of DMC WORLD Magazine, I for one was overjoyed at hearing the news that John Saunderson was returning to his (second) spiritual home Notting Hill Music as Head of Creative Services (we live in hope he returns to DMC one day!). Back at his desk where he helped so many artists careers,  his portfolio will include writer, song and catalogue development, overseeing collaborations and songcamps all over the world and the identification and acquisition of new and established writers and catalogues.
I have known John since the age of 13 when he was part of the exploding DMC. He would pick me up from school in his white Capri, Luther Vandross blaring out the stereo, mullet tucked into his collar… a fabulous man with one of the biggest personalities and heart’s you will ever find. A superb award winning DJ and host, I would zip around the UK with John and the DMC crew on the UK heats of the DMC World DJ Championships discovering dance music at such an early age. I was blessed.
John rejoins Notting Hill as it celebrates its 30th year as an independent music publisher and enjoying its most successful period ever thanks to recent global hit singles like Acraze “Do It To It”, Beyonce “Cuff It”, Meduza & Hozier “Tell It To My Heart”, Purple Disco Machine & Sophie & The Giants “In The Dark”, Kygo & Calum Scott “Woke Up In Love” and Tiesto “All Nighter”. In the same period, General Manager Leopold Huntington-Whiteley has overseen phenomenal growth of the company’s synch business with recent major campaigns for Samsung, Peloton, Amazon & Walmart amongst many others.
Chairman Andy McQueen says “As JFK once said “the time to fix the roof is when the sun is shining” so we are thrilled to add John’s energy and unique talents to the mix at a time when he can help to build further success for our writers from a starting position of great strength”.
John replies… ‘I had fifteen very happy, successful years at Notting Hill Music. I’m over the moon to be back with Andy, Dave, Leo and the rest of this amazing team. I can’t wait to see what the future holds’.
I for one will be the next Networking Night on Thursday October 26th at the wonderful Tileyard/CampFire/Vinyl Cafe. This is hosted by JSM Management in partnership with Sound City – Liverpool, Amplead, Notting Hill Music, YAMAHA, Kazbar, Dynaudio and Synthax – tickets from https://www.eventbrite.com/…/autumn-networking-night…
And if you need to speak to the man himself… here’s your route… john@nottinghillmusic.com
