The Bird And The Bee – One On One

I’m a huge fan of Greg Kurstin. He’s an incredible producer and songwriter but his work with Inara George as the bird and the bee really stands out to me. The first song I heard of theirs was featured on a Tim and Eric episode and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Les Loups – Elephant & Ivory (Vanilla’s Version)

I’ve been a fan of Vanilla’s work for a good decade or so now. I remember when my good friend Phil of Les Loups first sent me his remix of their track “Elephant & Ivory” I was blown away. Last year Les Loups re-released the remix. It’s a classic for me and there are so many fond memories attached to this one.

Phil from Havêa – 199X

Phil from Les Loups launched his own label Havêa Records in 2020. Phil asked me to replay the bass line on his debut single “199X”. It’s an infectious piece of Lofi house with a brilliant music video.

Vallès – Sorrow

I helped Marc mix his first EP “St. Lucia” and when he asked me to fly out to his house in Ibiza to produce his single “Sorrow” in 2016 I was honoured. I’m very proud to have been part of this track and L’ordre Collectif did a superb job with the music video.

Thomorrow – September Sunbeam

I write and release a fair bit of lofi-hip hop through Apple’s label PLATOON. Earlier this year I released an album under my alias Thomorrow. This is my personal favourite from the album:

Knight One – Shimmer

My friend Billy and I wrote the song “A Second Time” for his debut EP Swords Cry back in 2013 which he cleverly resampled and chopped up to create “Shimmer”. The intricate production on this one is second to none.

Dominic Pierce – See U (Move)

I love Dominic’s production style and especially when he sings on his tracks. This is a prime example of how to write a track with an infectious groove with just a few essential key elements.

Romanthony – ? $ Luv

This has to be my favourite Romanthony track. R.Hide is such a great record. It has everything and truly demonstrates what a talented musician and writer Romanthony was.

Big Tide – I Could Walk Away

A few years ago I went on somewhat of a musical detour from House music and wrote a power-pop record. This is the closer “I Could Walk Away” an ode to childhood separation anxiety.

The La’s – Over

After the Beatles, The La’s are probably one of our proudest musical exports over in Liverpool. “Over” has such a haunting quality and is a testament to Lee Mavers’ songwriting.
