Back to Mine with East & Young

Late night sessions at the best after hours parties in town

The Dutch duo are currently smashing the festival circuit both at home and across Europe…and with plenty more in the pipeline, we caught up with the guys to find out what we’d be listening to if we carried on the party back at their place…

1. Paul Kalkbrenner – Sky and Sand

One of our favourite records from the past years. The main synth melody is so emotional and sensitive, it gives us goosebumps everytime we hear it. We can also recommend the movie it’s written for, Berlin Calling.

2. Gregor Salto – Danny
This track is so amazing and in a certain way also daring. Mostly, EDM is about builds and drops, it’s so fresh Gregor came up with this. It would be great if more DJs could think out of the box and produce or play stuff like this.

3. Radiohead – Street Spirit (Fade Out)
For us one of the greatest bands from the 90s. Such a great atmosphere and a beautiful video.

4. Massive Attack – Teardrop
One of the most amazing videos ever made. The vocal is so amazing and sensitive, she must be an angel 🙂

5. Todd Terje – Inspector Norse
If you are feeling sad or a little down, you should listen to this song! It will definitely make you happy and cheerful, unless you don’t like it of course, Haha! Check also the great dance moves of that guy in the video. Ivo used to dance like that when he was a kid…

6. Kings of Tomorrow – Finally ft Julie McKnight
This is the track which brought Marc into the house scene. A few years ago, we’d been asked by Defected to do a remix. It was such a great honour but also really difficult to keep something of that great relaxing vibe in it.

7. Tove Lo – Stay High (Habits Remix) ft Hippie Sabotage
One of the greatest tracks at this moment. It’s great to see music like this can reach the nr 1 spot in the Dutch general charts.

8. Roger Sanchez – Another Chance
Another great classic! We are still playing the original track in our sets sometimes.

9. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross – Hand Covers Bruise (Soundtrack The Social Network)
We met each other at the Music School in Enschede and back then we also learned lots about composing for films. We are really into this kind of soundscapes with a loaded atmosphere. Maybe a little too scary to listen to just before you go to bed though 🙂

10. College & Electric Youth – A Real Hero (Drive Original Movie Soundtrack)
And another great soundtrack of one of our favourite movies, Drive. The bassline is not that difficult melody-wise, but it sounds so great and fat. And the moment when the chorus comes in, goosebumps again! 🙂
