Major new EP swinging way from one of the coolest producers on the planet

Interview by Dan Prince

Nice photo you posted on Facebook last week of you riding a flaming unicorn with the caption…“When u hear dubstep for the first time and ur life gets it!” – can you remember the first time you heard it?

It was in a very small bar in Tel Aviv during like 2006 or 2007. It completely changed my life. It was spiritual.

What are the 5 big tunes in your box this weekend?

5 tracks of my forthcoming EP are coming out on the 25th of September, I can’t give you the names but they are all hella lit.

The island of Ibiza has taken very well to the world’s biggest paint party Life In Color at Privilige, thousands have been flocking to get messy! A lot of the locals when they first heard of it were suspicious…they thought it was just another gimmick like the famous water and foam parties. But these events have INCREDIBLE line up’s…you enjoying your summer of paint??

I mean, so far every event (Life in Color Ibiza) has been incredible and I have two more and I’m really looking forward to being there. I understand why people can be skeptical but Life in Color has already proven itself almost everywhere in the world to be one of the best events. It’s just a really different experience you can’t get at any other festival.

Can you recall the first time you ever went to Ibiza?

The first time I went to Ibiza was to play a small dubstep show, obviously not a very Ibiza-friendly genre, so I can’t say it was incredible. But last year and this year I had some of the best shows in my life in Ibiza and I really love the island the clubs and the whole atmosphere on the island.

Can’t let Glastonury slip by without a quick mention! Your debut!!

Glasto was epic I was really excited to do it this year, especially headlining to sonic stage, it’s kind of a big deal. Like just walking around Glasto, I feel like that’s the epitome of everything right in music festivals. You go, you camp, you live in a world that is completely different from your day to day, you escape reality. I feel a lot of festivals kind of miss it and feel too corporate and Glasto still has that genuine charm.

3 bucket list adventures you wanna do in your lifetime?

Play with a panda bear.

Visit Antarctica (only continent I haven’t visited yet).

Go on an archaeological mission to figure out our true origin.

How was Tomorrowland this year? People moaned about the weather for chrissakes! It’s about the music!!

It was the best show ever, I played hella special stuff and the reason it is so good is because it attracts people from so many places and therefore for three days there is one spot on this planet that we can all live in peace and enjoy life.

We had one of our journalists on holiday in Las Vegas a few weeks back and had a proper time of it at your SLS Pool Party…how is Vegas these days, still the same madness, is it changing in any way?

Vegas will forever stay Vegas and I fucking love that place.

A young up and coming producer we should be looking out for over the next six months?

There are so many talented people on my label it’s just better to go check our SoundCloud account: soundcloud.com/buygore. We support so many up-comers and we’ve helped a bunch of really big producers pop up – the latest was Jauz.

When I told The Buzz Chart crew I was interviewing you today, they said “good luck Dan, he is a badman in interviews!”. So I checked an old interview and boom! Here we go…“my motivation is making people happy, getting people drunk, getting bitches naked and partying hard.” Are they they still high on your list that gets you out of bed in the morning?

My response hasn’t changed yet.

Your love of music is immense and you will attempt anything; House, metal, dubstep, drum n’ bass – is there a genre that you wouldn’t touch though? Brass & Military? Folk? Eurodance?

I think I wouldn’t do well with Country, but I honestly think music is music and I respect every genre.

And finally young man – I know you love a game of pool. I live in Ibiza. I have a pool table. Up for it??

I’m pretty good with feeling holes.
