Hector

The underground don from Berlin gets set to terrorise We Are HLLWN

Interview by Dan Prince

Hey Hector welcome back to DMCWORLD…where in the world are you right now?

I’m on a well earned holiday in the south of Spain

What was the first piece of music you heard this morning after crawling out of bed…

I’m in Spain…the Macarena…’

What are the plans for 2016 for Vatos Locos?

Starting with my label VL and preparing for BPM anniversary of VATOS LOCOS

You are one of the superstar DJs appearing at a new venture in London between Cream and WE ARE FSTVL entitled We Are WHSE that kicks off in October. Huge series of parties about to shake the capital up…you must be excited at this little baby in your diary?

Yes I am really excited to play and be apart of this, especially as it is the first in the series of We Are WHSE, it’s a privilege to be asked to play

Whilst dozens of leading UK venues have closed down in recent years, these ‘warehouse style’ events are now popping up everywhere. A mini festival all under one roof every time! Is this way forward or just a sign of the times that clubbing is going underground again?

Since I’ve been in London I’ve always been doing warehouses, I don’t think it’s disappeared from the London Underground scene

What was your anthem of the summer?

David G-tronic edit of ‘Easylee’

This weekend saw Nicole Moudaber and Friends take over The Brooklyn Mirage in New York. The photos looked amazing…tell us about the gig…

It was a very personal gig for me because it was in memory of my good friend Rob Fernandez and it’s also always a pleasure to to play for Nicole and Victor Calderone

Ibiza has had a memorable season this year. The hottest, the busiest and probably the most musically diverse. What have been some of your best nights this summer?

Music On and Paradise were my highlights

The island always comes in for some stick, we think it’s just lazy journalism when some scribe goes on about how the island is too VIP these days. The Ibiza underground is still there, you just gotta go seek it out. Thoughts?

The underground is still alive and present you just have to find it…

And finally, what is coming out next from you studio wise?

2016 will see me working on my VL label and working on my album which will then released on my label
