Ibiza Disco Stars

Ibiza 2012 Special

What is your favourite memory of Ibiza 2012?

“The sun, the vibe, the diversity of relaxing and partying, meeting all kinds of people of all nations dancing together. Thet’s our memory of 2012″

Tune of the summer?

“Technasia – ‘Heart of Flesh’.”

Most overplayed record of the summer?

“Otto Knows – ‘Million Voices’.”

Favourite resident DJ on the island?

“Luciano.”

Why is Ibiza still the best party location in the world?

“It has already been the best for over 30 years and the island is almost a synonym for dance music. The vibe is incredible and you just have to be there to experience and feel this unique atmosphere. We can not describe it in words.”

Ibiza is now split straight down the middle with serious DJs spinning quality house and techno on one side, and DJs playing the big room bangers on the other. Discuss…

“Everyone must go to the side they enjoy the most. In our opinion this shows how serious the dance industry is and how many different people of all kind of nations are getting their musical treatment. Every song or musical style deserves respect. Although we are not big fans of the big room poppy commercial style as we hear these songs enough on the radio! We like it when we get surprised musically, for example even down at The Jockey Club at Salinas beach you hear some beautiful sounds. Ibiza grabs when you when you least expect!”

What new party caused the biggest splash in their debut summer this year? And why?

“It started last year and this summer it got bigger and stronger. Vagabundos is off he hook !”

Favourite restaurant and beach in Ibiza?

KM5 & Sushiya Aoyama. Salinas Beach & El Codolar.”

Do you think the 123 Rocktronic Festival that featured the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Elton John, Sting, David Guetta and Tiesto this year is an important addition to the Ibiza summer, or do you think it is a case of one too many party on an already bulging season?

“We think it’s a good way of pushing the musical boundaries. What is coming next?”

What is the one record that will always remind you of Ibiza…?

“D*Note – ‘Shed My Skin’.”

Best venue in Ibiza and why?

“Pacha , the visuals and the sound system are top notch.”

A lot of money has been spent on the island in recent years improving things, what do you think is the biggest improvement on the island?

“Ushuaia without a doubt.”

What nationality are the craziest people on the dance floor?

“Haha, the people that are on H2o.”

Breakthrough artist of 2012?

“So many great artists releasing and playing quallity music…really hard question to awnser and just naming one breakthrough artist. We give you our top 4 in random order : Crazibiza, Solomun, Reboot and Pirupa.”

If you had to pick one person to go out clubbing with in Ibiza, who would it be?

Gabriel: “Steve.”
Steve: “Not Gabriel hahahah. Off course Gabriel. It is the best for us as a DJ/producers duo to go out there together and see and experience what is going on in the clubs and the beach party etc. So many great things going on in Ibiza. This gives us an inspirational boost and loads of fresh ideas for in the studio.”

And finally, tell us about your first trip to the white isle…

“Our first trip ever was a shitty gig in a club who’s name we shall not mention. But we had so much fun and got so much inspiration going out. It really gave us a new look on how to produce our House music.”
